How It Works

UV sterilisation that stays sterile between feeds

Traditional sterilisers solve half the problem — bottles are clean when the cycle ends, but re-contaminate from kitchen air within minutes. This cabinet sterilises with UV-C, dries automatically, then maintains sterility through periodic UV pulses while bottles wait inside. Clinically clean from cycle end to next feed, every time.

Frequently asked

How does UV-C sterilisation work and is it safe for baby bottles?

+

UV-C light (around 254 nanometres) destroys the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and mould spores, eliminating them without heat, chemicals, or residue. The sterilisation chamber is fully enclosed during operation — no UV exposure to people or pets. Safe on glass, silicone, PP plastic, and stainless steel bottles. No chemical disinfectants, no boiling water risks, no residue on bottles your baby drinks from.

What can I put in the steriliser besides baby bottles?

+

Pacifiers, teethers, breast pump parts, weaning bowls and spoons, small toys (UV-safe materials), and even mobile phones and household items in a pinch. Anything UV-resistant that fits the chamber. Check material compatibility on heat-sensitive items — the unit can also run on cold-sterilise mode for delicate plastics.

How long is a sterilisation cycle?

+

Standard UV cycle: 15–20 minutes. With auto-dry: 40–60 minutes total (drying is the slower step). Faster than boiling water, no waiting for cooldown, and bottles come out ready to use — no towels, no air-drying racks. The unit beeps when complete; sterilised items remain protected inside until you open the door.

How is this different from steam sterilisers?

+

Steam sterilisers use heat — effective, but can warp plastic over time and require waiting for items to cool. UV sterilisation is room-temperature, faster, safe for all bottle materials, and dries items in the same cycle. The bacteria-free storage feature means bottles stay sterile inside the unit until use — steam sterilisers offer no protection after the cycle ends.

Is the storage really bacteria-free between sterilisations?

+

Yes — the unit runs periodic short UV pulses to maintain sterility while bottles are stored inside (typically every few hours, depending on the model setting). This eliminates the gap problem of traditional sterilisers: where boiled bottles re-contaminate from kitchen air the moment you put them on the counter. With this unit, bottles stay clinically clean from cycle end to next feed.

Is UV safe around babies and pets in the home?

+

Yes. The UV chamber is fully enclosed during operation. Door sensors stop the cycle immediately if opened. No UV light escapes the unit at any point. No ozone is generated. Completely safe to operate in nursery, kitchen, or any room. The smart-sterilising mode also has a child-lock to prevent accidental cycle interruption.

What size bottles and how many fit at once?

+

The cabinet accommodates standard wide-neck baby bottles (240ml and 330ml sizes) typically 6–10 bottles per cycle depending on configuration, plus pacifiers and accessories on the upper shelf. Tall thermal flasks and larger items may need to be sterilised separately. Check the product images for chamber dimensions.

Power consumption and running cost?

+

UV-C lamps are highly efficient — the active sterilisation phase draws roughly the same power as a household LED light. Drying uses more (it's a heated cycle), but only runs as needed. Continuous storage mode uses minimal standby power. Significantly cheaper to run than a steam steriliser and an electric kettle combined. Lamp lifespan is typically 8,000+ hours, so replacement is rare.
